The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest provides support for the forearms, reducing fatigue and the potential for pain in the smaller muscles of the upper back and shoulders. By removing their need to be weight-bearing this allows these muscles to relax and rest. Unlike similar supports that are a single piece, this new design offers two separate supports that mount independently. The two-piece design is a new concept in forearm support. It is now possible to position them further apart and provide support options over a larger area. This feature makes these suitable for those using split keyboards, individuals of larger build or broader shoulders, or where only one side requires support.
The Split Forearm Rest modules require no tools to mount and are secured with steel brackets that will work on surfaces up to 1.375" thick. The modules can also pivot and slide to varying positions without repositioning of the clamp. This facilitates easy repositioning at any time to accommodate different input devices or body types (view the Animated Image). The soft cushioning helps to prevent injury to pressure-sensitive areas on the inside of the arm, with supple leatherette upholstery for ease of cleaning. The soft felted underside offers protection for the desk surface.

Note: Arm and hand support solutions that elevate the hand above the mousing surface can subtly change hand placement on some specialized mousing devices, potentially affecting the manner in which an individual interacts with these devices and possibly limiting the ergonomic benefits generally associated with them. With some products these changes may be more significant than with others. Reduces Strain on Upper Back and Shoulders The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest relieves the burden on the muscles of the shoulders and upper back, which would otherwise bear the load of supporting and stabilizing the weight of the extended arms. During lengthy or repeated work sessions, these smaller upper body muscles can become fatigued and inflamed. The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest prevents strain, and can give previously overtaxed muscle groups an opportunity to relax and recover.
Can Reduce Fatigue in the Arms and Hands When static tension in the shoulders and upper back muscles is alleviated, blood flow through the tissues of the arms and hands improves, reducing the risks of inflammation, pain and injury.
Prevents Inadvertent Wrist Extension The depth and slight elevation of the Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest prevents the heels of the hands from dropping to the desk top when typing. Preventing this bend at the wrist creates a healthier, neutral alignment of the hand and arm that can alleviate or prevent the development of painful conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Learn More About Wrist Extension.
Provides Pressure-Free Support With the Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest, the weight of the forearm and wrist is distributed over a much greater surface area than is possible with a more traditional wrist rest or palm support, significantly reducing the possibility of uncomfortable pressure points. The soft, molded waterfall design also eliminates possible pinch points where the underside of the forearms would meet the edge of the desk.
Improves Posture With insufficient arm support, a tendency to hunch forward can develop, especially when concentrating, or as one tires during a lengthy work session. The result is prolonged overextension of the muscles of the upper back, and at the rear of the shoulders and neck. Repeated periods of overextension in these muscle groups can cause pain and inflammation, and can lead to unhealthy tightening of the muscles in the chest. The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest helps avoid this hunched posture, allowing the spine to maintain the orthopedically stable "S" curve that keeps the muscles of the upper body in healthy balance.

- Adaptive and Adjustable Design: The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest is comprised of 2 separate supports that mount individually. They can also be adjusted individually, with the orientation of each support easily changed at any time without removal and repositioning.
- Build and Device Accommodating Design: Because the Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest is comprised of two separate rest a much broader range of body types can be accommodated. As well, this rest is ideally suited for those who are using a separated keyboard.
- Soft Cushioning: Polyurethane foam padding ensures that there are no sharp edges or pressure points for the forearms to rest upon. The supple, imitation leather cover minimizes friction when moving across the surface.
- Low Profile: The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest is just 1.0" thick (before compression) elevating the arm approximately 0.5" above the primary desk surface. At this height, the Forearm Rest also helps to reduce wrist extension when typing.
- Tool-Free Mounting: The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest is equipped with steel brackets that are secured to the worksurface with included hand-tightened winged bolts.
- Easy to Clean: The imitation leather surface can easily be wiped down or disinfected with many common cleaners.

- The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest can be used with any style of standard or split keyboard because of the adjustable modules. However, if your keyboard has a curved front edge, or has integrated palm supports, you will likely find that you have to reach too far forward to access the keys, creating tension in the muscles of the back, shoulders and neck. Attempting to use the Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest with a non-standard keyboard risks recreating one of the problems the product was designed to address.
- The Mousetrapper Split Forearm Rest offers a much wider range of positioning than other fixed-width rests. Figure out what is the optimal mounting position and then clamp them to your worksurface. Once installed the modules can be adjusted effortlessly using the slide and pivot mount, then tightened down using the adjustment knob on the underside.
- Arm and hand supports that elevate the hand above the mousing surface can subtly change hand placement on some specialized mousing devices, potentially affecting the manner in which an individual interacts with these devices and possibly limiting the ergonomic benefits generally associated with them. Be careful to ensure that you aren't reaching too far forward on the desk, thus putting undo strain on your shoulder.
